KOHARU is a calligrapher&curator
connecting Japanese art and culture with the world.
Architecture |
She studied architecture at university and graduated as a top student from a university in Tokyo, Japan.
After graduation, she designed architecture in a developer, and won a Good Design Award.
Art |
After leaving the company, she moved to the UK to look at Japan from the outside. There, she saw remarkable attention paid to Japanese culture, from Japonism to the present day. She herself became more fascinated by the delicacy, depth of history and beauty of Japanese culture.
Calligraphy |
She has studied calligraphy since the age of six and got qualified when she was still in junior high school. She initially began teaching calligraphy to support her life in the UK, but later expanded her activities to hold solo exhibitions. As well as calligraphy, she studies Zen as well as calligraphy and pursue a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. Currently she is based in Italy and works on her creation.
Florist |
Alongside this, she also has a career as a florist and is multi-talented in all aspects of her work. Her heart was saved by the aesthetic beauty of flowers that bloom a bud and wither momentarily, and then fall away.
People and nature.
Hare(Sacred) and Ke(secular).
People and people.
Flowers can connect them to each other.
She weaves together all her sensibilities - architecture, calligraphy and flowers - in her projects.
Photographer|写真家
Giorgio Fragiacomo
He began managing guesthouses while studying tourism economics at an university in Italy.
He then expanded his business to organise traditional Italian events, run a nightclub and a wine business, all with a focus on culture.
He moved to London, where he was surrounded by information from all over the world, and deepened his knowledge of photography from international angles.
Meanwhile, he became interested in Japan's deep history, traditional crafts, landscapes and national character, and learnt the Japanese culture and language.
He sees many cultural similarities between Italy and Japan.
Craftsmanship is outstanding.
There is a spirit of deep and profound pursuit.
A refined culture in each region.
Blessed nature, such as the sea and mountains, and abundant food.
People help each other.
However, he notes that Japan has many structures that make it difficult for foreigners to establish themselves in the country.
At the same time, he sees a potential scarcity of business there. He runs his title both as an entrepreneur and as a photographer.
